Miami Valley Child Development Centers proudly serves Springfield as southwest Ohio’s dedicated Head Start agency. For over 55 years, we’ve provided free and affordable early learning and child care for children from infancy through age five, starting with support for pregnant women. Expectant mothers receive essential services through our programs, and once their baby is born and reaches six weeks old, the child can seamlessly transition into our early learning programs. Our services go beyond education, with Family Support Specialists, Home Visitors, and Coaches who partner closely with families in Springfield to promote financial stability and independence.

In most cases, families must earn 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (opens in a new tab) or less to enroll. Children experiencing homelessness or who are in foster or kinship care also are eligible. In some cases, children with disabilities may qualify.

Early Learning & Child Care Programs in Springfield

Miami Valley Child Development Centers proudly operates early learning and child care programs throughout Montgomery, Clark, and Madison counties, including right here in Springfield. In addition to our centers, we partner with in-home Family Child Care providers to offer even more flexible options for families.

Our Early Head Start program serves children from six weeks to age three, offering Springfield families nurturing, high-quality early care tailored to young children’s developmental needs. This program is available at multiple convenient locations in Clark County, providing Springfield parents with trusted care options that support early growth and learning.
